Supreme Floating Shelf Threaded Rod
Floating shelves are a great way to create a clean fresh look in any room.
Floating shelf threaded rod. Each rod will have a carrying capacity of 50 pounds. I built these shelves for a friend. This video will explain the steps involved in creating very strong floating shelves using pieces of all-thread rod screwed into the studs.
I think what I would do is make a clear acrylic triangle and have three clear rods anchored down to a base of acrylic then add the sub-straight. Its all 1x12 common pine and 12 threaded rod. One of the most nerve wracking aspects of this job for me was drilling into tile.
I am building a floating shelf that needs to have a very narrow profile 34Ãâ thick max. These hardened 316 stainless steel threaded rods are 40 stronger than standard Grade B8M threaded rods. Im looking to install 3 80 2x12 reclaimed maple planks as floating shelves in my kitchen.
Get it as soon as Fri Aug 20. 2 x 36 plate. Drill Holes in the Back of Shelf.
Use a stud finder to find the studs in the wall. Our tentative plan is to use 12-inch x 58 inch steel threaded rod to support the shelves by screwing the rods about 3 inches into the studs and then sliding the shelves with holes drilled in them to correspond to the rods onto the rods. When drilling the timber use a drill bit 05mm bigger than your threaded rods in my case 125mm which gives a little bit of play when you go to slide the timber shelf into position.
Use a drill to drill into the stud where youd like to hang your shelf. Use a drill bit the same size as the rods youve chosen. Mount your Shelf to the Wall.
